June is Pride Month and the Hi-Desert is celebrating.
Joshua Tree Pride is in full-swing with events planned around town over the next two weekends:
This Saturday, June 11th the Beatnik Lounge will be opening QUEERATED featuring local LGBTQIA+ artists. The opening reception will be from 5 to 9PM and the show runs all month.
If you miss the opening party, you can visit the gallery on the next Saturday, June 18th from 10AM to 2PM as they kick off Joshua Pride Day.
The Station in Joshua Tree is holding a Patio Pride Dance Party with DJ Monkeybone, Jessica VonRabbit and Kidnapkate spinning sets until 5PM. You can cool off with ice cream and mocktails while you wait for the mermaid splashdown parade landing there in the afternoon.
Just across highway 62 the Desert Split Open Mic will be hosting their Queer Voices show at the JT Lake RV & Campground and all LGBTQIA+ writers are encouraged to read their poetry or prose from 5 to 7PM.
The Tiny Pony in Yucca Valley will be bringing it home with a Pride Party starting at 8PM and going until close with DJs, a full-menu and bar, and of course a photo booth.
