A Joshua Tree traffic stop resulted in an arrest of a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies with the Multiple Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on June 9 for vehicle code violations at the intersection of Sunburst Circle and Desert Air Rd. Dustin Devine, 44, was found to be a convicted felon in possession of a rifle and ammunition. As a convicted felon Devine is prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms and ammunition.
A search warrant was authored for his residence in the 62000 block of Mountain View Circle. During the service of the search warrant an additional eight firearms and ammunition was located. Devine was arrested for investigation of violation of two felonies for owning or possessing firearms and ammunition. Devine was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held in lieu of $50,000.00 Bail.
