JOSHUA TREE FELON FOUND WITH DRUGS AND WEAPONS

A Joshua Tree man was arrested early Sunday morning following a traffic stop in Yucca Valley. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy conducted a traffic stop just after 4 a.m. on a vehicle in the 7000 block of Acoma Trail in the Town of Yucca Valley. During the stop, the deputy found that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of methamphetamine and ammunition. A background check revealed that the driver, Matthew Swanson, 59 of Joshua Tree, had a felony record. Matthew Swanson was arrested for investigation of being a previously convicted felon in possession of ammunition and possession of a controlled substance and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $35,000.
