On a recent episode of the Z107.7 Up Close Show, host Gary Daigneault spoke with TBID Board Member, Ashton Ramsey. Daigneault asked Ramsey who owns the Ramsey Hotel, how he felt the City of Twentynine Palms  was helping new businesses to gain footing.

Daigneault said,

“I don’t want to ruffle any feathers here, but how was your experience with the city of Twentynine Palms in refurbishing that area, which will be a tourist area, and refurbishing the Ramsey?”

To which Ramsey replied,

“Yeah, you know, it was interesting because, you know, when I first came in, the city, it was already pro-business and being helpful, but I felt like I was screaming a little bit to get some attention and some help to accomplish, you know, to collaborate with the city basically. And now I feel with, you know, Keith and Stone, they are so pro-business and they want to help you. And, you know, everything, there’s rules for everything, but they want to make sure that those rules are set up and fair and pro-business and able to help us out.

And, you know, I do, I have to brag on the city. We’re lucky to be here because this city is so helpful in getting these businesses off the ground. And the way I see it is, every place is growing and we’re either going to be filled up with Applebee’s and kind of generic things, or we’re going to be getting these unique businesses that could really add character to the city.”
