Hi-Desert Nature Museum seeking “Wondrous Waste” for 20th annual recycled art exhibit
Attention artists, dumpster divers and everyone in-between: the Hi-Desert Nature Museum is seeking transformed trash for their annual recycled art exhibition.
Trash is a way of life no matter how much we all attempt to reduce, reuse and recycle. But what if part of that “reuse” was for art? If you’ve spent any time exploring the hi-desert you know that our unique environment makes trash very visible, so why not pick some of it up and create a unique piece of art for the Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s annual “trashy” art show, this year titled “Wondrous Waste.”

If you haven’t been to previous years’ exhibits, you are really missing out because this is one of the most fun and unique art shows in the Morongo Basin. And this year they will be celebrating 20 years of the exhibition that asks artists to think outside of their regular materials to repurpose and recycle trash into wall art, free standing sculptures, and dozens of other amazing pieces that will be on display beginning on March 21.

The museum will be accepting entries from March 11 to 14, meaning you have a few more weeks to whip up a whimsical piece. There is a limit of two pieces per person, and a few other things the museum would like you to look at before submitting.
See all requirements for submissions to “Wondrous Waste” here.
