Head-on collision in 29 Palms sends both drivers to hospital

A head-on collision in Twentynine Palms sent both drivers to the hospital for minor injuries.

On Thursday, July 27, at approximately 8:30 a.m., County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic collision at Utah Trail in Sunset Drive in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say that a white Ford Focus, driving northbound on Utah Trail collided head on into a gray Subaru Ascent, which was heading southbound on Utah Trail.

The drivers of the Ford, identified as a 32 year-old female resident of Twentynine Palms, and the driver of the Subaru, identified as a 42 year-old male resident of Twentynine Palms, were both take to Hi-Desert Medical Center for minor injuries.

Deputies closed both north and southbound Utah Trail for approximately 30 minutes, between Sunset Drive and Baseline Road to conduct their investigation, which is ongoing.

Neither drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the collision.
