Morongo Basin Orchid Festival keeps Landers colorful all weekend long

If you are a visitor to the hi desert this weekend, you chose a colorful time to be here. Just a little north of here in Landers thousands of orchids and other exotic plants will be on display for free – Gary Daigneault joins us with details on the flower festival the hi desert has been enjoying since 1996.

The hi-desert’s famous Orchid Festival is happening this Saturday and Sunday in Landers. Amongst the thousands of blooming orchids and carnivorous plants on display – you’ll have your pick of wine tasting, orchid beers, food from local vendors and live music on both days.

There are also self-guided tours of the Gubler greenhouses, the American Orchid Society’s 5th annual Judged Show will have the local winners on display, and there will even be classes on flower-arranging that sends you home with an orchid of your own.

The free flowery festival is going all weekend – on Saturday from 10am to 5PM, and on Sunday the show goes from 10AM to 3PM.

You can find information on the annual festival at www.gublers.com
