Grubstake Days celebrates 74th year in Yucca Valley with a schedule of events starting on Thursday (5/22)

Put on by the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce, Grubstake Days is back for its 74th year.

There’s a kick-off mixer on Thursday (May 22) at Snake Bite Roadhouse from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, featuring a live auction with vintage western wear, artwork, musical instruments, and more.

Friday (May 23)  is the Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament at Hawks Landing Golf Course.

On Saturday (May 24), start off with “Kid’s Day” at the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi Desert. Executive Director Shannon Tygerson told us what’s in store.

Shannon Tygeron: “Grubstakes Kids Day. So, we have the Little Miss and Mr. Minor Contest. Sign-ups are at the Boys and Girls Club, or it will be posted online today, so you can sign up online. We are also having a mechanical bull, water jumpers, bounce houses, face painting, a craft area, tug of war competition, sack race,  The Kids Day event runs from noon to 4:00 p.m.”

After Kids Day, head across the road to Brehm Park for the return of Grubstake Marketplace and Beer Garden from noon to 8:00 p.m Vendors, food trucks, beer and wine will set the scene for desert musicians performing live, including 

  • Rubber Snake Charmers
  • Los Ponchos Tones
  • Hammer of the OZ
  • House of Demeter
  • DJ Pearl Charles, and many more!

Start Sunday (May 25) with the Grubstakes Run at 8:00 a.m. at Yucca Valley High School. Followed by the Pony Express Ride at 11:00 a.m. in Pioneertown, with mail being delivered at high noon.
