GO SKATE! Twentynine Palms skate scene supports another Go Skate Day at Luckie Park tonight at 6PM

Go Skate Day is happening today (6/21) at Luckie Park Skatepark, The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and goes until 9:00 p.m. It’s all-ages all-skills evening of fun for everybody – there will be a Grom Throwdown competition, cash prizes, giveaways, and even an “Old Man Bowl Jam” for the other end of spectrum of skaters that are expected to be out there today.

Reporter Robert Haydon went out to Escapade Skate shop in Twentynine Palms and talked with Dann Rothwell about the skate scene in Twentynine Palms and why skateboarding is such a positive force for everybody regardless of age. This is a longer version of their conversation.

A mural project is also coming to Luckie Park Skatepark via the Twentynine Palms Public Arts Advisory Committee.

Mickey just moved to the Morongo Basin and found Escapade Skate Shop just walking around Twentynine Palms.

James has only been skating a little over a year, and “rules Luckie Park” according to Dann. James says he’s aiming for 2nd place in the Grom Throwdown.
