From Otherworldly Visions to Fleeting Moments: New Shows at 29 Palms Art Gallery

The 29 Palms Art Gallery invites the community to slow down and explore imagination at its September exhibition. A reception will take place on Saturday, September 6, with hospitality on the patio from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The September show at the 29 Palms Art Gallery features three distinct exhibitions.
In the West Wing, retired Marine Timothy Warren’s show is called A Mind Expanded. Warren, who lives in Twentynine Palms, says that art has been a grounding force in his life while coping with PTSD.
Warren said, “This is going to encompass at least 20 pieces, it could go to 25… I work primarily with spray paint. Most people equate it with street art, and it definitely has that flavor, and I have taken some of that, and I come from doing graffiti, and when I was younger, doing comics. And I mix all the flavors together and do my own style, my own thing.”
Warren has been showing work for nearly a decade and now serves on the gallery’s board. His featured exhibition joins two other shows this month. The East Gallery hosts a two-woman exhibition titled “Just a Second.” Encaustic and mixed media artist Sonja Krastman and photographer Julie Bergman explore what changes when we pause long enough for a second look. Krastman’s work builds layers of translucency and texture, while Bergman experiments with macro photography and intentional movement. Together, their art captures the fleeting and often overlooked moments of life.
Guild members will also showcase a range of new works in the Members’ Room.
The exhibitions run from September 5 to 28, with gallery hours on Fridays through Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The 29 Palms Art Gallery is located at 74055 Cottonwood Drive, at the corner of National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms.
