The Twentynine Palms Historical Society is holding a Weed Show Workshop this Saturday, (10/12) – where you can learn the ins and outs of making a truly unique weed show entry. If you’ve never been to the annual 29 Palms weed show – now in its 82nd year- it’s much more than putting a fist full of creosote into a can. There are 13 different categories to inspire your dry desert creations – such as purple desert glass focused pieces or “rusted, busted and dusted” souvenirs you’ve found while out hiking.
You can submit a single entry in each category – but don’t be intimidated by the rigorous rules of the weed show, all will be demystified at the free workshop – it’s being held at 10AM this Saturday, Oct. 22 in Founders Hall at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, 6760 National Park Drive, Twentynine Palms, CA.
The 82nd annual Weed Show will be held at the same venue the weekend of Nov. 5 and 6th For more information and to see photos of past entries, visit the Historical Society website at www.29PalmsHistorical.com
