Free show at Mojave Gold celebrates David Bowie’s birthday tonight (1/8)

Thursday (January 8) would have been David Bowie’s birthday, and a group of local musicians have decided to honor the deceased rock n’ roll superstar.

Six hi-desert bands will take the stage to honor the musician, who passed away in 2016 after a short battle with cancer. The free show features Karma Dealers, Fresh Basil, Landroid, the High 70s, House of Demeter, and the Jean Genies, who will play their favorite hits and deep cuts from Bowie’s catalogue. Costumes are encouraged, and the best costume will win a prize.

The event is completely free and is happening at 7:30 p.m. at Mojave Gold, located at 56193 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
