Children from Twentynine Palms will receive new free books at a special summer literacy event tomorrow, June 25. Kids in grades K thru 6 participating in Save The Children’s summer learning programs will take part in a special literacy day. Participating children will get to pick out their own books to keep them excited about summer reading and encourage book ownership.
The book distribution event is part of the Scholastic Summer Reading program, which, in partnership with Save The Children, has committed to donating 100,000 books. The books will be distributed at Oasis Elementary School located at 73175 El Paseo Dr. on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
