“Flamingo Blossom” retreat center holding community meeting this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The Flamingo Heights Community Association is holding another meeting this Saturday about the retreat center proposed for a 4.5 acre commercially-zoned lot at 777 Old Woman Springs Road.

This Saturday at 1:00 p.m. the group for the development known as “Flamingo Blossom” will be at the Flamingo Heights Community Center to talk more about the project that they describe as an artist’s retreat center: it will include 12 cabins, a kitchen, a swimming pool and changing rooms. The developers say it would help alleviate short-term vacation rental overcrowding in neighborhoods, and that the retreat center would include spaces for community events and artists receptions.

At the last meeting on May 5th of this year – some of the community was vocal about their opposition to the project, stating that contrary to the project description the development didn’t seem like it would be open for community use.

As of May, the project hadn’t filed any permits and said it was still in an exploratory phase.

The meeting is this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Flamingo Heights Community Center at 55977 Perris Street, just a little west of the proposed development.

If you can’t make the meeting in person, it will be streamed live on Facebook at this link: https://www.facebook.com/flamingoheightsca
