First round of property taxes due for San Bernardino County property owners

7

If you are having trouble paying your property tax this year, there is a state property tax postponement program that will allow homeowners that are senior citizens or have a disability defer the current year’s property taxes.

You will have to meet certain stringent criteria such as having at least 40% equity in the property and an annual household income of $53,574 or less.

The deferment of property taxes is secured by a lien against the property which must eventually be repaid.

The Tax Collector encourages taxpayers to pay online for the most convenience and security. There is no charge to pay online when paying with a checking or savings account. You can visit www.MyTaxCollector.com, and payments may also be made by phone at (909) 387-8308 or (760) 241-8829.
