Evidence of Shooting Found at Joshua Tree Vacation Rental

At 5:50 a.m. on Saturday (October 21) morning, the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station responded to a report of shots fired in the 7000 block of Sunny Vista Road in Joshua Tree.

At the residence, which is a short term vacation rental, responding Deputies found evidence of a shooting, though the property was unsecured and unoccupied. A search warrant was acquired, and detectives recovered unspecified evidence from the scene.

The vacation rental is on the same block as Friendly Hills Elementary School, though school was not in session when gunshots were heard.

The investigation is ongoing, and the owner of the vacation rental is cooperating with the investigation. Z107.7 will continue to monitor this ongoing investigation.
