Essig Park Dog Park held a grand opening yesterday morning to the joy of many dogs and owners

After many months of anticipation and plan changes, the first phase of Essig Park was completed, and staff opened the fences to Dogs and owners. Mayor Denison was there with his wife Kathy and their two dogs, an American Akita, and a French Bull Dog. There were over 60 residents present and approximately 75 dogs.

During the celebration and before the ribbon cutting, Mayor Rick Denison received a Certificate of Recognition on behalf of the Town from San Bernardino’s Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe, presented by Field Representative Glenn Harris, and a Certificate of Recognition from House Representative Ray Obernolte, presented by Field Representative Hayden Bartz.

The mayor received the certifications and talked to the crowd about the hard work and commitment of staff, contractors, and designers.

“We had some late outreach from the community, and I want to thank everyone for continuing to be engaged after this whole process started. We discussed some items that would be benefit and so we made a larger expanse as you will see today. So, thank you everyone for reaching out and making sure we could bring more fun to the small dog side with toys and a more active area for these pets.”
