Enter your prized flowers in this year’s Orchid Festival

If you have a favorite Orchid at home, you can bring it to be judged by the Riverside/San Bernardino Orchid Society during the Morongo Basin Orchid Festival. The American Orchid Society Judged Show entries will be held on Friday, October 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Judging begins at 10:05 a.m. The best orchids will be awarded ribbons on Saturday at noon. The Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary will also supply wine tastings and their signature margaritas for a fee. 

The Morongo Basin Orchid Festival is Saturday, October 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gubler Orchids, 2200 Belfield Blvd. in Landers. Admission and parking are free. 

The Orchid festival is supported by Z107.7 FM.

Hilary is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) and has documented the work of local and International non-profits. She has a podcast on Sound Cloud and is looking forward to adding more. Her favorite pastime is watching the wildlife around her home, traveling, and meeting new people.
