The San Bernardino County’s Animal Sterilization Assistance Program is offering $200 to dog owners and $100 to cat owners in unincorporated areas that need to spay or neuter their pet. The vouchers are to help cover the cost of fixing your pet, which also does a public good of making sure your dog or cat doesn’t make any more. Shelters across the county and the state are over capacity, and the county wants to help reduce the number of unwanted litters entering local shelters.
Spaying and neutering can also offer health and behavorial benefits for your pooch or cat, including a reduced risk of certain cancers and a longer, healthier life.
