San Bernardino county nudged back into the “medium” coronavirus community transmission range Thursday (July 28) after spending a week in the “high” transmission category.
The county is rated as having a “medium” rate of virus spread by the CDC because the rate of new COVID-19 admissions to hospitals dipped below 10 per 100,000 population last week. The number of people in the hospital who tested positive for COVID-19 stood was 230 on Wednesday (July 27). The rate of reported new coronavirus cases declined slightly during the past week, from about 376 new cases per 100,000 population to roughly 354 in San Bernardino County.
Officials have said they will not reinstate a face-covering mandate unless state health officials issue such a requirement.
