Copper Mountain College will appoint new District 4 trustee

A new trustee will be appointed to Copper Mountain College over the course of two special meetings on Thursday morning (September 5).

There is a vacancy on Copper Mountain College’s Board of Trustees for Area 4, which encompasses parts of Joshua Tree as well as the southern portion of Twentynine Palms. The former trustee for District 4, Liz Meyer, retired in July to travel the world.

The remaining board members will appoint a trustee from a list of three applicants, and the appointee will hold the position through the rest of the term ending in December 2026.

The three applicants for the open seat are:

  • Randolph “Randy” Councell
  • Cathy Inscore
  • Graydon “Chuck” Uyeda.

A special meeting set to begin at 9 a.m. will see the board speak with and select one of the three candidates. A separate special meeting to be held at 10:30 a.m. will have the selected applicant sworn on to the Board, taking the oath of office.

Both meetings are open to the public, and will be held at Copper Mountain College’s Bell Center.
