Copper Mountain College hosts author reading and student open mic this Friday

Copper Mountain College will be hosting an Author Reading this Friday, December 6th at the CMC Library at 6PM, with local authors and student open mic

Local authors reading include poet John Sierpinski, author of Sucker Hole and ECT In Crayon, both published by Cholla Needles; Kurt Schauppner, editor of Desert Trail and author of Ghosts of Ide County; Rose Baldwin, author of Mike’s Magic Burgers and The Claire Stories, 2024 Laureate Award Winner for Best Editor Jean-Paul L. Garnier, owner of Joshua Tree’s Space Cowboy Bookstore and publishing house; and author Michael Stillman.

CMC’s Renee Gurley said this event was prompted to connect the high desert writer community with the CMC Writing Community as well as promote CMC’s Literary Review HOWL’s 2024 Edition. With CMC’s 24/25 HOWL season now in gear, CMC students and community can expect more of these collaborations in the future.

If you have any questions regarding this event of submitting to CMC’s HOWL Literary Journal, please contact HOWL editor Rob Wanless  at [email protected]
