CMC opens nominations for four Governing Board candidates

Copper Mountain Community College District has four openings for candidates for Member of the Governing Board in Areas 1, 2, 3 and 5, in the upcoming election on November 5th.

Areas 1, 2, and 3, will be electing a member for a four-year term, while Area 5 will be electing a member for a two-year term. 

For qualifications, a candidate must be a registered voter residing within the district and area at the time nomination documents are issued. Official candidate filing documents for eligible candidates may be obtained from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters and filed not later than 5 p.m. on August 9, 2024, in the aforementioned office. 

If by 5 p.m. on August 14, 2024, only one person has been nominated or an insufficient number of persons have been nominated for the above elective offices or no one has been nominated, and if no petition requesting that the election be held has been presented to the officer conducting the election, appointments will be made as prescribed by Section 5326 and 5328 of the Education Code. 

The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters provides candidate filing documents and services by appointment. Visit Elections.SBCounty.gov or call (909) 387-8300 to schedule a video conference or in-person appointment. Walk-ins are welcome but may experience some wait time.
