Closing arguments and jury instructions expected today in Arthur Davies’ Trial

Closing arguments and jury instructions will take place today in the trial of Arthur Davies – the man who is accused of murdering  17 month old Parker Lee Schumacher back in 2018.

Arthur Davies has been in custody and charged with  Murder and Felony Assault on a Child Causing Death since his arrest in 2018. The 17-month-old toddler was left in his care for a few minutes while the mother was doing laundry – when she came back into the house the child had blunt force trauma to his head – including a commutated complex fracture on his skull and retinal bleeding and detachment. Davies was the only person in the house with Parker. Expert witnesses for the prosecution say those types of injuries happen in severe automobile accidents or when a child dies from a 3 story fall. Defense witnesses argue that the child had no other signs of child abuse, and that the deadly injuries occurred when Davies was holding the child who fell backwards out of his arms and onto a linoleum kitchen floor.

The jury is expected to start deliberations today after closing arguments – we’ll have the verdict for this long-running case as soon as its delivered – here on z1077fm.com.
