The multi-use trail is over 2000 feet long, with a 10-ft wide sidewalk alongside a granite path. Street crossings have ADA compliant ramps and the there are benches, trash cans, bike racks, and water refill stations as well.

In line with the Twentynine Palms Community Trails Master Plan, construction on the Channel Trail Project began on August 11 with the official opening on Wednesday May 17th.

The trail connects split rock avenue and adobe road, and 29 Palms Community Development Director Keith Gardner says that even though this section is complete and ready for pedestrian use, the walkway will continue to expand east and west as the city pursues more grants.
