At tomorrow’s (July 11, 2023) 10 o’clock meeting of the county supervisors in San Bernardino, the board will have to take unusual and necessary action on behalf of the Morongo Valley Community Services District.
Supervisors are expected to fill a vacancy that was created by a resignation in April. The Morongo Valley Community Services District is run by a five-member board of unpaid volunteers. The CSD had 60 days from April 19 in which to appoint a new board member or call for a special election, but has been unable to move forward due to the lack of a quorum. Under such a circumstance, the county board of supervisors must intervene. So tomorrow, county supervisors are expected to choose a new CSD director from among seven qualified applicants. The new director will be expected to complete the remaining unexpired term through December 2024.
Morongo Valley residents who have turned in applications for the consideration of the open seat on the CSD Board of Directors are as follows.
Krystal Lynn Conrad
Lori Craven
Lance Fisher
Steven Hayden
Eva Rowles
Lynn Watts
Eric Weston
