Deputies responding to a report of domestic violence led to two arrests for investigation into burglary and possession of methamphetamine. “Dream for Kids” toy drive by Basin Wide Foundation collecting presents for children in protective services

If you want to make some very deserving kids very happy this holiday season, the Basin Wide Foundation is continuing their annual "Dreams for Kids" toy drive. Gifts will be given to 123 children in protective services in our community. Man arrested for suspected sex crimes against Yucca Valley minor faces nine felony charges

The man arrested on suspicion of committing multiple sex crimes against a minor is being arraigned on nine felony charges related to sexual assault.  The Sheriff’s Department’s Morongo Basin Station arrested Dakota Lessnau, a 31 year old male resident of Desert Hot Springs for investigation into several offenses against a minor over the age of 14. Road closures east of Twentynine Palms takes a holiday pause starting Wednesday

Expect road closures on Twentynine Palms Highway east of Twentynine Palms Monday and Tuesday (11/25 and 11/26). Caltrans is conducting overlay work on the Highway 62 but is pausing work from Wednesday, November 27th until Monday, December 2nd. Thanksgiving Food Basket giveaway at The Way Station in Joshua Tree this Tuesday (11/26)

The Way Station will be giving out food boxes and turkeys tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. The distribution of food comes in part from donations made to Basin Transit at Friday's (November 22) "Fill the Bus" event, during which employees for the transportation operation collected donations outside of the Yucca Valley Walmart. Desert Hot Springs man arrested for suspected sex crimes against Yucca Valley minor

A man was arrested on suspicion of committing multiple sex crimes against a minor in Yucca Valley. The Sheriff's Department's Morongo Basin Station initiated an investigation on October 20th into unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor that occurred in Yucca Valley.
