Road closures on Twentynine Palms Highway this week

Expect road closures on Twentynine Palms Highway east of Twentynine Palms this week, as Caltrans conducts overlay work on the state highway. Lanes may be reduced to one lane at a time, with flagging operations and traffic escorts on Twentynine Palms Highway between Gopher Grover Rd. and Gold Crown Rd. Crews will work at various locations within the project zone, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. this week.

Felon arrested on suspected weapon possession in Twentynine Palms

A convicted felon was found by deputies with suspected weapons in Twentynine Palms. On Tuesday (October 15) at around 12:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the 6100 block of Encelia Ave in Twentynine Palms where they contacted Adam Weaver, 46, a felon currently on post-release supervision. One arrest was made after a person was punched in the face in a Yucca Valley Dollar General. On Sunday (October 13) at 10:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a battery made by employees at the Dollar General at 55556 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. A Twentynine Palms man with violent felony convictions was arrested on suspicion of forcible rape and burglary. On Friday (October 11), the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department received a report from an unidentified victim that someone had broken into their home and that they had been raped.
