Two minors arrested for suspected $400k Nike haul from Amboy train burglary

Two minors were arrested for investigation into stealing $400,000 worth of Nike gear from a train in Amboy. On Wednesday (January 15) at approximately 6:40 p.m., BNSF Railway police contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Morongo Basin Station about a train that was actively being burglarized by multiple suspects in the area of Amboy and National Trails Highway. Yucca Valley Animal Shelter closed today (1/17)

The Yucca Valley Animal Shelter will be closed today (January 17), for a scheduled in-service staff training session. The Animal Shelter will resume normal operations on Saturday, (January 18). While the shelter is closed, owners of missing or lost pets should call the Animal Shelter at 760-365-3111 and leave a voicemail message. Staff will be returning phone messages at the conclusion of the scheduled training.

Fatal collision on Twentynine Palms Highway; CHP seeking Chevrolet that was involved

One person was killed in a high speed collision involving a garbage truck on Twentynine Palms Highway. The California Highway Patrol said that on Tuesday (January 14), at approximately 4:15 p.m., a Nissan Sentra was traveling at a high speed eastbound on Twentynine Palms Highway near Kerr Avenue.
