There is a USDA Food Distribution in Twentynine Palms today, Monday May 20th from 3 to 5PM at 6450 Stardune Ave. The USDA's website incorrectly listed tomorrow for the distribution. This will be the only food distribution at this location for this week. The food is being distributed behind the church, please bring an ID. The Bureau of Land Management, or BLM has elevated its seasonal fire restrictions for public lands in San Bernardino County effective next Wednesday, May 22. County offers free spaying and neutering for unincorporated areas

Residents of unincorporated areas like Landers, Flamingo Heights, the mesa, Wonder Valley, Joshua Tree and the Lucerne Valley are now eligible to receive some additional dough for spaying or neutering their cats and dogs. The vouchers are worth 100 bucks for cats and 200 dollars for dogs and go toward making sure your pet is spayed or neutered. Artist Cathy Allen moved to the hi desert in 1993 to apprentice with Noah Purifoy following her studies at Otis and Claremont where she earned her Master of Fine Arts.. She created a studio in Wonder Valley where she spent the next 30 years practicing in sculpture, installation and performance as a local cultural art maven, as well as being a professor of fine art at Copper Mountain College. Yucca Valley Town Council distributes Measure Y funds, talks food trucks and sidewalk vending

The long-planned Yucca Valley Aquatic and Recreation Center project was awarded to Robert Clapper Construction Services out of Redlands, California.
