Yucca Valley man arrested in Hit and Run investigation

An investigation into a hit and run in July that resulted in two victims being airlifted to the hospital has led to an arrest of the suspected driver, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff. Yucca Valley resident David Alderson was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 7 for suspected felony hit and run. CHP reports 6 DUI arrests over Labor Day Weekend

If you were out on Highway 62 over Labor Day weekend, you may have seen the DUI checkpoint that was setup just east of Joshua Tree on Saturday, Sept 22nd.From 7PM to 2AM, the CHP did a sobriety and driver license check - they screened 573 vehicles, determined 7 of those drivers were under the influence of drugs and or alcohol - and arrested two of those for driving under the influence. There was a total of 6 DUI arrests over the holiday weekend.

Yucca Valley home spared in late night garage fire on Inca Trail

A fire in a garage attached to a single family home in Yucca Valley was quickly put out by the San Bernardino County Fire Department last night (Aug 26) - sparing the attached home. Firefighters quickly responded to reports of an attached garage on fire on the 7500 block on Inca Trail in Yucca Valle. The Yucca Valley Trojans Football team beat Lancaster 35-28. Javin Hudson was the player of the game with three touchdowns and 97 yards receiving.
