A tennis court at Jacob’s Park in Yucca Valley is being temporarily converted into pickleball courts following a recommendation from the Yucca Valley Park, Recreation and Cultural Commission. SB County Planning Commissioner pleads Guilty to Fed Charges related to Cannabis bribes

A former San Bernardino County Planning Commissioner has pled guilty to federal charges related to bribes made in the cannabis industry. The former commissioner, Gabriel Chavez, a resident of Upland, agreed to the guilty plea related to criminal charges of funneling bribes through his company to Ricardo Pacheco, a member of Baldwin Park’s City Council, in exchange for the politician’s votes and influence over the city’s cannabis permitting process. CHP Grant aims to make motorcycle safety priority in 2023

California has more registered motorcyclists than any other state - over 750 thousand motorcycles use the Golden State’s roads and highways. The California Highway patrol will implement a yearlong federal grant aimed at decreasing the number of motorcycle-involved crashes. “Get Educated and Ride Safe” or GEARS is a California-wide motorcycle enforcement and education effort by the CHP that will use campaigns such as May’s motorcycle safety month to spread awareness about sharing the road.…

The MUSD’s two high schools faced off in girls volleyball and tennis yesterday afternoon (October 11). In volleyball, the Twentynine Palms Ladycats hosted the Yucca Valley High School Trojans last night (October 11). The Ladycats won in both varsity and junior varsity competition.
