The Animal Action League is holding a low cost pet clinic tomorrow (March 1st) where you can get your furry friend spayed, neutered, chipped or vaccinated. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Animal Action League’s main office at 62762 Twentynine Palms Highway right by the big metal dinosaurs. Telephone Scams increase in Morongo Basin, targeting seniors and other vulnerable people

There is another phone scam being reported here in the Morongo Basin - this time the thieves are posing as agents from the FBI and are convincing victims that they owe money to the federal government. The Twentynine Palms Cemetery District Board of Trustees meets in regular session tomorrow afternoon (February 21). The Board is expected to receive reports from the General Manager regarding cemetery operations and financial data, and will consider adding an additional groundskeeper position. Elk Fire trial date set for two men suspected of starting Yucca Valley Wildfire

The two men suspected of starting the Elk fire back in May of 2022 appeared in court yesterday for an early disposition hearing, and had a trial date set for April 25th. Liam Stinson and Aaron McKeeman were arrested last year shortly after reports of a brush fire starting near Elk Trail in Yucca Valley. The two suspects were reported by San Bernardino Sheriff’s deputies to be driving away in a Toyota Prius from the area in the Yucca Valley hills where the fire started, and were subsequently…
