Grubstake Days will wrap up on Memorial Day with events just for the little cowboys and cowgirls. 29 Palms City Council discusses selecting Mayor and Pro Tem, finances

After awarding participation and recognition awards, tonight's City Council discussed recommending a new process for the selection of a mayor and a mayor pro tem. One public comment asked if the mayor could be elected by the people, which was found by the Council to be less expedient than approving a rotation cycle, beginning with District #1, to take effect next year. New California State Laws taking effect in 2023

New laws in California took effect in January that will affect foster care, what you wear, and if music lyrics can be used against you in a court of law.
