Yucca Valley Planning Commission to receive reports

The Yucca Valley Planning Commission will receive updates on current and future projects. In addition to the Land Development Update, the Commission will also receive and file the report on capital projects. The capital projects update is brought to the Commission bi-annually; Town Staff will present on any projects underway, their status, and any known issues. Yucca Valley receives community input on courts, skate park

The Town of Yucca Valley hosted two meetings to gather public input on the Community Center Master Plan. Doug Grove of RHA Landscape Architects Planners, Inc., led both meetings. The town has created a three-phase rollout for the development: Phase 1 is the construction of pickleball courts, Phase 2 is the construction of new basketball courts and an expanded parking lot, and Phase 3 is a redesign of the existing skate park. The Yucca Valley Town Council unanimously approved the location for a new monument sign on the west end of town. The current sign is located on private property; the town has been interested in establishing a new sign on public property as part of its beautification efforts. The new site will be on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highway 62 and Camino Del Cielo. Native American Land Conservancy seeks volunteers for cleanup in Morongo Valley

On April 12 and April 19, the Native American Land Conservancy (NALC) invites volunteers to a Tend the Land event in the Hi-Desert. The two-day cleanup will be held to restore Bear’s Water (Hunat Paac Pihaaka’), a private NALC preserve in Morongo that is not currently open to the public. Volunteers will help weed invasive vegetation, pick up trash, and tend to the property while learning about the cultural and natural heritage of Native lands from NALC staff.
