AT HOME TESTS AND BEST PRACTICES FOR COVID-19

As Covid cases surge after holidays, the County of San Bernardino curtails in-person services and encourages everyone to get vaccinated or boosted. Hilary Sloane tells you additional practices to follow to keep yourself and others safe…

The County wants to remind everyone the pandemic is not over. Follow these safe practices. Get vaccinated or boosted if you are eligible. Wear a mask. N95 and KN95 masks are the most effective, but surgical masks or disposable masks are also effective. Fabric masks are less effective. However, they are improved by double masking. Any mask is only effective worn over your nose and mouth. Stay at home if you are feeling sick. Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated places. Maintain physical distancing when around others outside your household. Monitor your health daily and test to prevent spread. To make an appointment for a Covid test or vaccine, visit SBCovid19.com. Walk-in appointments are available at County-operated vaccination sites.

The federal government has also launched its website to sign up for free COVID-19 at-home test kits, allowing people to order a maximum of four tests shipped directly to their households. To order at-home test kits, visit covidtests.gov.
