Summer time can tend to slow things down here in the high desert – but that’s definitely not he case this weekend when it comes to art. There are a few free shows taking place in different galleries around Joshua Tree – here’s a quick rundown for your saturday:
Hey There Projects Gallery will have a group exhibition of folk-art inspired kinetic sculptures called Whirligigs and Weathervanes – that will be going from 6 to 9PM.
During the same 6 to 9 PM time slot, La Matadora Gallery in JT is having an art party with music by DJ AlKimmy launching a new show titled re.con.fig.ure – which features art that reuses trash and other ephemeral items.
The Joshua Tree Art Gallery – or JTAG – will be open from 9AM to 3PM and are continuing their space-themed exhibition that features exhibits from 24 local artists.
And right behind JTAG at PILATES and ART – they will be hosting a solo exhibition by local artist Douglas Blanc from 6 to 8PM.
