Z107.7 News listener Tim Curr sent in photos from Monday’s partial solar eclipse. Partial only because Southern California wasn’t in the “path of totality” – which is the strip of the United States that got to experience the eerie dusk feeling of the moon passing between the earth and the sun – completely blocking out most of the light for a brief few seconds.
Here in the Morongo Basin it looked noticeably dimmer and scattered clouds moved quickly making viewing the eclipse easy if you had the necessary glasses.
Or in this case a camera with the right lens or filters to knock down the blindingly bright sun. Tim notes that in the first two photos, a sunspot is visible.
