Tonight, the Twentynine Palms City Council will face a packed agenda for their final meeting of 2022.

The meeting will kick off with community recognition awards, then a presentation by the Public Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC), followed by comments from outgoing Mayor Karmolette O’Gilvie and presentation of Employee of the Year and the Mayor’s Recognition Award.

There will be the official seating of councilmembers-elect, including Octavious Scott for District 4, followed by a brief recess. A public hearing will include updates to the Housing Element, Safety Element, and Land Use Element of the General Plan.

The council will then discuss several items, including possibly receiving a presentation from the San Bernardino Council of Governments (SBCOG) and reviewing a letter of interest from the mayor on behalf of the council for participation in the San Bernardino Regional Housing Trust.

The council will discuss and likely appoint resident, Cindy Bernard, to the Public Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC) before moving on to the selection of the Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, and can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org.

The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
