29 Palms Art Gallery opening art reception May 6th

The 29 Palms Art Gallery will host an art reception on Saturday, May 6, to celebrate the April exhibition. The gallery will be open all day, and reception hospitality will be served on the gallery patio from 4 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists. Admission is free.  The band “The Aliens That Ate Hollywood” will play at the reception.

Featured in the West Wing in May is artwork by Tracey Keilly and Ron Therio in “The Galactic Federation presents: Thy Kingdom Come”. Their work brings together mixed media collage and sculpture. Tracey builds socio-political statements from found objects that she feels guide her to surprising sub-conscious revelations, while creating these large wall hung works. With a background in conceptual modeling and architecture, Ron now sculpts outsized abstract figures in plywood.

The East Gallery features Pat Watson’s oil paintings.  Throughout his life as a student, teacher and practitioner, he’s lived the creative life in art, poetry, philosophy and music, reluctant to prefer one over the other which puts his work into many and no categories all at the same time. This adventure into ideas, creativity and spirituality has matured into Pat Watson’s current work, a return to the most primary forms of visual expression conceptual visualizations and expression drawn from the beauty and magic of metaphorical imagery.

Artists’ Guild members will display a variety of new works in the Members Room this month.

The exhibition will be on display at the gallery May 4th – 29th, open Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The historic 29 Palms Art Gallery is located at 74055 Cottonwood Drive at the corner of National Park Drive, in Twentynine Palms, CA. For more information, visit www.29palmsartgallery.com.
