$250,000 GRANT TO GO TOWARDS YVHS TRACK AND FIELD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

A $250,000 grant was recently awarded to the Morongo Unified School District, meant specifically for the purchase of a new track for Yucca Valley High School. Reporter Andrew Dieleman has the story on how this much-needed grant will be used…

On March 27, the non-profit Morongo Educational Foundation was selected by the LA84 Foundation, a legacy of the 1984 Olympic Games, to receive a $250,000 grant for the purchase of a regulation all-weather synthetic track. With the recent approval from the MUSD board of Trustees, the track will be constructed as part of Yucca Valley High School’s track and field improvement project. The installation is scheduled to begin in June and be completed in early September. The Morongo Educational Foundation will continue to seek additional funds for athletic projects at both Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms high schools.

If you are interested in this quest and/or would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the project, you can contact the foundation via email at [email protected] , mail your check to the address below, or make an e-donation
