The 2022 Pioneer Days celebration will kick off on Saturday, October 1 at Freedom Plaza in downtown Twentynine Palms. After a long hiatus, the Outhouse Race is making its way back to this community celebration! The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is looking for seven talented local artists to design one of this year’s Pioneer Days Outhouse Race trophies sponsored by Ace Hardware. In true outhouse fashion, artists will be tasked with designing a desert scene or artwork that represents this year’s theme: “Let Freedom Ring!” to go on a wooden toilet seat. Submit your artist bio to Scott Clinkscales by email at [email protected] for consideration. Deadline for artist bio submissions is Monday, July 25. Artists will be announced on Thursday, July 28.
