YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN MISSING FOR TWO DAYS FOUND IN BRAWLEY

A Yucca Valley woman who has been missing for two days has been found alive and well in Brawley. On Wednesday, June 18, about 7:30 a.m., Kathleen “Kay” Collins, 88, left her home in the 56200 block of 29 Palms Highway to attend an event at the Double Tree Hotel in Ontario. When she had not returned home by 8 p.m., her family contacted the hotel, which was not able to confirm that Collins was there that day. About 4 a.m. Thursday, Collins was sighted at a Circle K gas station off Highway 371 in Anza. Video surveillance confirmed that Collins was alone. She paid cash for a small quantity of gasoline and then left, traveling east. About 7 a.m. today, Collins’ family received a phone call that she had been found in Brawley, where she had driven her car into a ditch. A Good Samaritan pulled her car out of the ditch and notified her family of her whereabouts. Kay Collins’ family is on their way to get her.Kathleen Collins Picture
