YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN ACCUSED OF STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Tuesday, accused of attempting to punch a store clerk who was trying to stop her from stealing merchandise. According to a Sheriff’s report, Sandra Schorer, 30, went in to the Stater Brothers grocery store on the east end of Yucca Valley about 4 p.m. and concealed multiple items in her backpack. Schorer then tried to leave the store without paying for them. When an employee confronted Schorer, she refused to give back the stolen items and the clerk attempted to take the backpack. Schorer then grabbed it back and threw a punch at the employee. Deputy Shauna Ables, who was off-duty at the time, detained Schorer until an on-duty deputy arrived. Sandra Schorer was arrested for investigation of strong arm robbery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $100,000.
