The Yucca Valley Town Council will hold a special joint session with the Planning Commission starting at 6 p.m. tonight in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center. During the joint session, the Council and the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the General Plan Update and the draft environmental impact report. Immediately following the joint session, the Town Council will hold its regular meeting. Among the items on the consent agenda, the Council will be asked to approve a contract with Honeywell for heating and air-conditioning, and will receive the budget report. On the action agenda, the Council will be asked to approve a $2.8 million contract that would install—with some modifications—medians, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks along Highway 62 from Apache Trail to Palm Avenue. Following an update of the Town’s procedural guidelines manual, the Council will be asked to approve a spay-neuter voucher system. Finally, the Council will go into closed session to discuss recruiting a Town Manager.
