Among the items on the agenda for tonightâs meeting of the Yucca Valley Town Council, Deputy Marcus Murray will be recognized for being named Officer of the Year for the Morongo Basin Sheriffâs Station by the Footprinters Association. The council will be asked to approve: an amendment to its contract for street sweeping; the sale of three vehicles as surplus property; and approve advertising for bids for resurfacing of Jacobsâ Park tennis courts. The council will also be asked to approve a new member to the Parks and Recreation Commission to replace Gregory Hill who resigned in February. The council will then review requests from various organizations for partnership funding, and then will review the draft budget for 2016 to 2018. Council members will be asked to approve the renewal of a contract of the Sheriffâs Department work release program, approve a town-wide slurry seal project, and finally, select a candidate to serve on the Local Agency Formation Commission. The meeting starts at 6:00 in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
