YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL HEARS GRUBSTAKE DAYS RODEO REQUEST TONIGHT

The Yucca Valley Town Council will welcome the new Morongo Basin Sheriff’s captain at its meeting tonight. Managing editor Tami Roleff says a funding request for the Grubstake Days rodeo is also on tonight’s agenda…
At the last meeting of the Yucca Valley Town Council, the organizers of the Grubstake Days rodeo had asked for $50,000 for the rodeo. The council denied the request, but asked that the item be placed on a future agenda. Tonight, the council will be asked to approve a $5,000 donation for the rodeo. Other items on the agenda include awarding contracts for architectural design and renovation of the PFF Bank building into the new library; revising the town’s reserve and fund balance policy; approving a pension funding and stabilization policy; and approving a new legal firm for the town. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
