YUCCA VALLEY RECALL PETITIONS APPROVED, SIGNATURE GATHERING STARTS

The effort to recall two members of the Yucca Valley Town Council got a green light on Wednesday to start gathering signatures. Proponents now have until Tuesday, September 10th to collect 2,461 signatures, 25% of the town’s registered voters. If successful, a special election to recall council members George Huntington and Robert Lombardo will be held at taxpayer expense in about six months. Petitioners first submitted the recall forms to the town clerk May 13. The forms were returned for required corrections May 20, and re-submitted to the clerk’s office May 23. Two more go rounds were required before the Yucca Valley Town Clerk was able to approve the forms and permit the petitions to begin circulating.
