The Yucca Valley Planning Commission will hear a request to revise native plant requirements tonight. Managing Editor Tami Roleff has more…
Many Yucca Valley residents were outraged earlier this year when the developer of Sage Estates began mass grading the site at Golden Bee and Sage, and removed hundreds of Joshua trees and yuccas. The developer agreed to transplant about 525 Joshua trees and 372 yuccas. At tonight’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission, commissioners will consider a request from the developer to reduce the number of transplanted Joshua trees and yuccas to 210 and 310, respectively.
The commission will also discuss drafting ordinances to regulate outdoor merchandise displays at retail stores.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
