Registration is underway for the Town of Yucca Valley Lifeguard Certification Course. To enroll, participants must be at least 15 years old before the last scheduled class session and be able to pass a prerequisite skills evaluation. The course fee of $220 includes American Red Cross registration fee, lifeguarding manual, adult/child CPR mask, whistle, pack, and instruction. Six sessions, scheduled for Friday evenings May 5 and 12, and two weekends (May 6-7, and May 13-14), will take place at the Yucca Valley High School pool, 7600 Sage Avenue. Applicants who successfully complete the course will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years. For more information call 760-369-7211.
